OPENING FOR APPLE INDUSTRY.

“The United Kingdom imports 90' per cent, of New Zealand’s' apple experts,” remarked Mr R. AV. Lambie (Assistant British Trade Commissioner) at Wellington last. week. “Ohly 2 per cent, of the total United Kingdom apple imports is supplied by the New Zealand trade, however,” he went on. “This shows the great field there is for New Zealand to conquer. The uniform good quality, which ha.S distinguished all the special lines of this country, ahd the solid reputation you have built up will stand to New Zealand in the. future.” The speaker remarked that he had seen that evening a letter from Brazil in which a prominent business man of that country sought to open up trade with New Zealand.
