At Thursday’s sitting of the local Magistrate’s Court W. Meta was ordered to pay T. H. Hale £6 19s 6d, and costs 15s 6d, in default six days’ imprisonment in the Thames gapl, the warrant to be suspended so long asi debtor paid £1 a month, the first payment to be made on July 6.

At tlie present time the Horahia Drainage Board has fifty men in its employ carrying out part of the drainage system which was authorised by the ratepayers some time ago.
