MASSED BANDS PERFORMANCE.

CONCERT AT GAIETY THEATRE.

For some time past the Paeroa Salvation Army Band hqs been working assiduously to strengthen its funds. On Tuesday night a delightful concert was held at the Gaiety Theatre before a. large attendance of the public. The music contributed by the Paeroa, Te Arbha» Waihi, and Thames bands, both played en masse and individually, was much appreciated, and the audience was not slow to show hearty satisfaction. In addition to the selections rendered by the bands under the conductorship of Bandsmen E. Martin (Paeroa.) and B. M. Lindsay (Waihi) the following programme was submitted:—

Song, “Crown Him,” Bandsman Lindsay; song, Miss R. McCullay; recitation, Miss Kennington; company song, Wa,ihi Songsters; song, Mrs Woods; recitation, Mrs McKinnon ; song, Mr Darbyshil'e ; recittition, Mrs Woods; duet, Captain and Mrs Dick; song, Mrs J. Mitchell; character songs, Miss M. Armour ; recitation, Mr Manson.

Captain A. Grove gave an inspiring address on Salvation Army teachings, and the performance closed with a mapch played by the massed bands, followed by the National Anthem.
