OBITUARY.
MR. CH ARLES HENRY LADNER. Tlie sudden dentil of Mr Charles Henry Ladner, aged 60 years, at his residence, Miller Avenuq, Paeroa, on Friday evening, came as a great shock to his many friends. Mr Ladner, who had not enjoyed good health for the past year, complained of fueling unwell, and left his business premises for his home on Friday afternoon. Deceased wti,s born at Aucklajul, but lived for the greater part, of his life at Thames, where he followed the. occupation of cabinetmaker. He was a member of the Thames Volunteer Fire Brigade, and also an enthusiastic member of the Thames Volunteer Rifles, and was the proud possessor of long service medals. He also took an active interest in both football a,nd cricket, and .was a well-known player while at Thames. On leaving Thames some. 20 years ago, deceased went to Masterton. where he followed his trade, until about three years ago. Arriving in Paeroa about eighteen months ago, deceased commenced business on his own account as a furnisher and cabinetmaker. His strict integrity and keen attention to business had won him many and it was only a fortnight ago that lie, removed into larger premises. In addition to a widow and two sons, there, are two sisters (Mrs F. J. Wells, Paeroa, and Miss N. Ladner, Auckland) and five brothers left to mourn their loss. Tlie sympathy of a wide circle of friends goes out to the relatives, and especially to Mrs Ladner, who was actively associated with her husband in business at Paeroa.
Deceased was interred at. the Pukerim u Cemetery, Paeroa, yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Louden performing the last solemn rites.
