FIRE AT PATETONGA.

HOUSE DESTROYED. On Wednesday evening a fairmhouse of five rooms at P.atetonga owned by Mrs A. Caldwell was totally destroyed by fire. The only occupant at the time was, Mr L. Caldwell. The clause of the fii’e. is unknown. There was a small insurance on the house, but none on the furniture or piano. The unfortunate feature was the fact that the. car in which Mrs Caldwell and Mr R. Caidwell, were returning from the Hamilton Show got bogged at the deviation, and from there they saw the outbreak and the finish of the fire, not knowing it wa,s their house.
