ODDFELLOWS’ BALL.

AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. ALL FORMER EFFORTS ECLIPSED. The third annual ball promoted by the Loyal Jubilee Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F. (Pae;rca), was held at the Gaiety Th.atre on Thursday, May 27. The function, which had been looked forward to keenly, was an outstanding success in every Way. Visitors, were present from a,U parts of the. district, a,s well as from Matamata, Thames, Morrinsville, Te Aroha, and Waihi, and the unanimous opinion df those present was that they had thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Many novelties were introduced into the scheme for decorating the; theatre, and the. result was strikingly pretty, as well as unique. Crawford’s Star Orchestra, from Hamilton, provided the dance music, and left nothing to be desired, and was generous in supplying the; many encores demanded of it. The. duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Messrs V. Carrick, C. Townshend, and W. Smith. If anything the hall was a little tbio crowded for dancing comfortably, but the Masters of Ceremony handled the situation tactfully and with credit. A feature, of the function was the delicious sit-down supper provided and served by the sisters of the lodge assisted by ifriejnds. By the. efforts the sisters also the decorative, scheme was, evolved and carried out, and during the evening the members were the recipients of many congratulations cn their work. Without making an invidious distinction, special praise is due to Bro.' K. L. Slyfleld, who acted as organiser for the ball. Due to his efforts and thoroughness it is anticipated that the lodge funds, will be increased by £2O.
