He Was a rich young man, engaged to be. married, who wrecked his marital plans by indulging too heavily in the flowing bowl and crashing in an airplane on the eve of his wedding. So he took the “honeymoon trailer” he had built in which to drive his new wife to California on a trip by himself. That is the start of ‘California Straight Ahead,” which is to be screened to-night.

TO-MORROW NIGHT. NELLIE, THE BEAUTIFUL CLOAK MODEL. “Nellie, the Beautiful Cloak Model,” is to be shown to-morrow night. The story is, essentially melodrama, and one whirling sequence moves into another with lightning rapidity. The elevated tracks of Ne.w York are employed to provide thrills for one sequence. The tire scene in the modiste, shop holds one breathless. Nellie is kidnapped from hea; home. She is forced to work and save for her adopted father, who in reality is an old suiter of her mother’s. When she reaches womanhood she has t,o seek work in a modiste shop. Her troubles multiply rapidly, providing plenty of excitement for any screen audience.
