PLAINS REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. WEEKLY MEETING. The Hsiuraki Plains Referees’ Association held its weekly meeting at Ngatea on Tuesday evening, Mr J. Reed presiding. The recent amendments to the rules of Rugby were discussed and ex- ■ plained, so that all; referees would give the same rulings. Instructions were given that in 'future referees should be firmer on ( af! matters, liable to lead to rough play. In’ order to encourage, men from the distant part of the Plains to become active.referees the association decided that it would hold its weekly /' meetings in- different places rather I than always in the central township. Meetings will; be held in Turua, Kerepeehi, and Waitakaruru as soon as possible, and after the business; has been transacted blackboard lectures will be delivered to footb.all.ers. The strength of the association i& 18 referees. PLAINS GAMES. The football matches that will be played on the. Plains' to-morrow, together with the referees, are as follows : Ngatea v. Kerepeehi, at Ngatea, seniors Mr Reed, juniors Mr Mahoney; Coajst v. Turua, at Coast, Mr Kidd; Waitakafuru v. West, at Waitakaruru, seniors Mr McMillan; juniors; Mr Clotworthy. Th e school, match Kerepeehi v. Turua, at Kerepeehi, will be refereed by Mr Laing, and the Ngatea v. Coast match, at Coast, by. Mr A. E. Ludlow. PAEROA GAMES.
