GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. to-night. PEACOCK FEATHERS. The picture to be screened to-night is “Peacock Feathers,” in which Jacqueline Logan and Cullen Landis have the stellar roles. . The story is of flie problepis. of a. young couple, both poor, who had hesitated before marriage because of (heir poverty. When they think, they have inherited, wealth they marry, but find they have nothing but a neglected Western ranch which has, been deserted for years. The girl accuses the boy of tricking her into the marriage, and their troubles begin.
SATURDAY NIGHT.
THE DESERT FLOWER. - Maggie Fortune’s • jumpy, bumpy iffe as the step-daughter of. a railroad section gang foreman and the occupant of a boxcar “mansion” on the Mojave desert, is faithfully portrayed by the ever-intriguing Colleen Moore in her latest First National offering, “The Desert Flower,” which is .the principal attraction to be screened to-morrow night. The story is colourful a,nd consistent, and affords, Miss Moore a (splendid opportunity to display her ability both as a comedienne and .also as a dramatic ajetress. “ THE MAN £ROM TORONTO.” MONDAY NEXT, MAY 24. This very successful comedy, which ran at the Duke of York’s Theatre and the Shaftesbury for three years, accomplishing a ijondon record, will be presented by Denis Kehoe and his newly organised Comedy Company a,t the. Gaiety Theatre on Monday next. Mr Kehoe is making a change from his former policy of costume plays, and has arranged with J. C. Williaimson, Ltd., for the rights to present many of their outstanding successes through the province. “The Mail from Toronto” will be .the first of the ■series, and will be played by a picked cast, including Misses Frances Kayher, Gwen Doris®, Miriam Osborne, Ronald Riley, Bernard Beeby, J. Vincent White, and Denis Kehoe in the-title role. This play is the direct antithesis of the pieces in which the Kehoe Company has hitherto appeared here. Nevertheless, their playing in it has been received elsewhere with great enthusiasm, surprise having been expressed that the entire cast showed such versatility. The box plan for the performance is on view at Mr Flatt’s.- .
