—_—n LOCAL BODY CONTRIBUTIONS. ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR.

The Thames Hqspital Board has furnished a statement of the estimated revenueu and expenditure for the year 1926-27. The contributions required are payable by equal quarterly instalments, the first being due on June 30, 1926. Interest will be charged on levies unpaid after 14 days. The estimate of the items df expenditure /or the .year 1926-27 is as; follows: Thames; hospital and majernity annexe, £10,250'; district hornets:, £1750; charitable aid .to destitute children, £175 ; indoor and outdoor relief, £lOOO ; patients in other hospitals, £4OO ; native, nurse, £100; district nurse, £lOO ; administration, £750; interest on nurses’ home loan, £383 13s 4d; interest on laundry and isolation block 10an, z £455; subsidy to be refunded, £IQB 8s 4d; miscellaneous, £5l 13is. Total, £15,523 14s Bd. The capital expenditure items are as "follows: Repayment of principal on nurses’ home lba,n £493 13s; 4ld, and laundry and isolation block loan £7OO ; Paeroa maternity hospital, first and second instalment, £6ooo'. It was, stated that there was a credit balance, in the bank df £l5OO, apd this reduced the expenditure total to £21,217 Bs. The receipts were estimated as follows: Balance levy '. and ; subsidy, £4343 17s lid ; hospital recoveries, £3500 ; homes,- £9OO ; rent, £26 ; mi£|cellaneous, £lOO. Total, £10,438 ss, 2d, less Paeroa hospital; trust account, £3346 17s 2d. Total, £7o'9'l Bs. - The estimated expenditure over revenue was £14,126, which, in accordance with the Act, wag' required to be contributed by the local bodies and the Government! on. the basis of £6860 10s 7d by the local bodies and £7265 9s 5d by file Government. The levy on the local bodies will be assessed at .409 d in the £ on the unimproved rateable value,- and >the amount will be as follows: — Thames Borough, valuation £BOl,375, levy £1365 Ils' ; Paeroa Borough, valuation £369,870, levy £630 7s 4d ; Ohinemuri County, valuation £673,750, levy £1147 15s sd; Thames County, valuation £596,601, levy £lOl6 14s. 2d; Hauraki Plains’ County, valuation £1,584,427, levy £2700 2s Bd.
