BOROUGH POPULATION.

CENSUS RETURNS FOR PAEROA. ‘ SLIGHT INCREASE SHOWN. As a result of the recent census the following returns for Paeroa have been 'forwarded by the local enumerator (Mr W. E. Ward), the figures in parenthesis denoting the population in 1921, in which year the last census was taken :— Europeans: Males, 923 (846) ; females, 810' (799). Thus the increase in population is 77 males and 11 females, a total increase of 88 pensons. The last census shows the 'Ma.ori population within the borough to be. 55 males- and 45 femajes—total, 100 Maoris. ' \
