GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. THE RAINBOW TRAIL. With all- the da*s:h and vigour of a Zane Grey he|ro Tom Mix recorded a triumph in “The Rainbow Trail, which is to be screened to-night. This latest photbdrama is, even more, thrilling than "Riders of the Purple Sage,” to which it is the sequel; Mr Mix and Tony, his wonder horse, go through perilous adventures THE GRAY DAWN. “The Gray Dawn” will now be visualised as well as read, .for this famous novel has been adapted for the. screen and will also be shown to-night. The stoiy has to do with early times, in California, and particularly with pioneer residents of Sa,n Francisco, who made history in ways that would not be considered entirely proper today.

HOCKEY CLUB’S SOCIAL. Reports to hand indicate, that no effort is being spared by the members of the Paeroa Ladies’ Hockey Club, and a strong outside committee, ,to make the dance and euchre tournament a success. To-morrow evening at the Gaiety Theatre dance, patrons should spend ,an enjoyable night’s pleasure, Crawford’s Star Orcheistra from Hamilton has been engaged, and the floor will be in tip-top order. Valuable prizes, six in all, have been secured for the winners, of the euchre tournament, which is to be conducted in connection with .the dance. A special feature will be the. supper, which is being supervised by a. capable committee. The object of the function is to. raise money for the purpose of purchasing necessary playing requisites, and to augment the funds for the travelling” expenses of the. touring team- The support of the general public in assisting so worthy ,a cause' is confidently expected, and will be fully appreciated. ,
