ANZAC DAY.
ARRANGEMENTS AT PAEROA. PARADE OF-TERRITORIALS. This year Anzac. Day, which falls on Sunday next, iis: to be fittingly observed at Paeroa. ■, ; In addition to holding a commemoration service, a parade of territorials, senior cadets,'boy scouts, and girl guides is to take place. Th© arrangements made provide for the territorials and cadets to parade at the Drill-hall at 1.50 p.m., apd the girl •guides and boy scouts at the Domain. From the two assembling points the parade will; march to the high school There the official party, comprising the Mayor of Paeroa, borough councillors, chairman of the Ohihemuri County Council, and councillors, and members of other institutions will assemble. At 2-10 p.m. His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marsha.l,l) is to place a wreath at the foot, of the Roll of Honour at the school. Led by the Shi vation Army band, the parade will then march to .the Gaiety Theatre, ■ . where a, citizen’s memorial service is .to be held, commencing at 2.30 p.m’., followed by the sounding of the Last Post and the Reveille. • Persons having flagstaffs are asked to ha,lf-mast the flags during the'/ period o¥ the service—from 2 !to 4 o'clock. '• ■ Returned soldiers are invited to ! take part in the proceedings. It is earnestly hoped that the citizens will co-operate with the officials in carrying out the. arrangements, and by so doing realise their solemn obligations, to the Fallen.
