A draft balapiceisheet as; regards tlie General Account, Riding Accounts, Hospital and Antecedent Liability Account of Hauraki Plains: County Council was submitted to the council at its last meeting by tlhe treasurer, Mr El A. Mahoney : — GENERAL ACCOUNT. “The balances of separate accountsi witii the balances at the end of the previous year in parenthesis;, and the rates outstanding for the year ended March 31, 1926, are as follows,: Turua Riding, Dr. balance £503 15»s 7d' (£770 15s 2d) rates (general) outstanding £1044 ; Kopuarajii, Dr. balance £655 10s lOd (£290 9s;), rates outstanding £lOO5 8s lOd ; Horahia, Dr. balance £217 Ils 6d "(£397 128 2d), rates outstanding £lOBO 18s 7d ; Kerepeehi, Dr. balance £340 15s 8d (£9l 19s lid), rates outstanding £930 9s 2d ; Netherton, Dr. Balance £330 3s 5d (£6l 2k 10d), rates outstanding £847 13s 6cl ;■ Patetonga, Dr? balance £332 18s 6d (£177 Is; 8d), rates outstanding £509 2s 6d; N gate a, Dr. balance £437 Ils (£3l 16s 3d), rates outstanding £747 Ils; Pipiroa, Cf; balance £56 12s 9d (Dr. balance ‘£Bl 12s Id), rates outstanding £872 10s lidWaAtaka,ruru, Dr; balance £629 17s 3d“. (£507 6s 7d) rates outstanding £937 19s Id; Hospital Account, Dr. balance £BB3 17s 6d (£239 17s Id), rates outstanding £2223' 65,; Antecedent Liability, Dr. balance £B6B Ils 9d (£2300), rates outstanding £446 l'ss, 2d. “It will be seen .that sufficient Hates, a ; re outstanding to extinguish hajf the antecedent liability of the council, when collected. “The Hospital Account, although at present showing a debit balance, is quite solvent when the, balance isi compared with, the rates outstanding. This debit,, as, in tihe case of other accounts, is solely attributable to the lateness Of the racing period. Hospital levies have been paid to date so that there-is no other .liability on the account beyond the debit shown. “The bank overdraft on March 31, 1926, was. £3740 2s 4d.. Th this must be added the . unextinguished .antecedent liability, makitag a, total overdraft of £4608 14s Id. “The total a,mount of rates, including special rates, outstanding at March 31 was: 1925-26, £17,168 IQs 4d : earlier periods, £6380 17 s Id. “The loan interest accounts: are all in credit with the exception of the following: Purin ferry approach, Dr. £224 8s 3d; Waitakaruru roads, £3 12s 6d; Waihou bridge, £52 Is 8d; Netherton roads, £5 9s 3d. These debit balances are mainly attributable to the refund of amounts advanced from the general account last year, but'tlie debits are amply covered by outstanding rates. TURUA NETHERTON ROADS LOAN. “This loan of £19,500 has been expended with the. exception of the following balances of authorities on the works named : Turua-Nethertoni road, £253 17s, 7d ; Orchard East Road, £l4 18s lid; Wharepoa-Kerepeehi Road, £235 15s lid ; Newman’s Road, £707 13s lid. MACHINERY LOAN NO. 1. “The amount raised to date, £20,000, has been fully expended, and an additional amount of £loo'o has been advanced from the. general account. A further loan will be' required if this is to be repaid. MACHINERY LOAN NO. 2. , “The ' amount, raised, £lO,OOO, has been expended with the exception of a balance of £l4B 16s> lid.' “Credit balances exist in the following loans : Horahia Roads, £4989 16js 8d; Turua-Orongo Roads, £352 Ils ; Turua. District Roads, £1309 2s lOd ; Waitakaruru Ro,ads, £53 l'ss 2d ; Netherton Roads, £1628 19s 3d ; Netherton' Roads, .1925, 19s; Kirikiri Bridge, £lO,OOO (on fixed deposit). ■ HOUSING LOANS. “The following'amounts have been repaid to the State Advances Office on account of the principals of hous--ing loans,: Engineer’s: house loan, £8 9s 8d; Ngate.a house loan, £29 9s Id ; Netherton house loan, £820! 6s Id; Turua house loan, £B5l 7s Id ; Patetonga house loan, £Bso' 9s 4d ; Waitaka,ruru house loan, £230 14s 7d.
