BEE-KEEPING.

' MEETING AT PAEROA. AN ASSOCIATION FORMED., A. representative meeting df. ■ beekeepers was held at the Soldiers’ Club, Paeroa, on Saturday afternoon. ■Mr T. Pearson (Claudelands) presided, and Messrs . A. H. Davies/, president of the National Bee-keepers’ Association, and T. Winter, Government apiary instructor, were also present. Following- the completion of some minor business an instructive and interesting address was given by Mr Winter on matters pertaining ,to beekeeping. By request, Mr Davies briefly outlined matters, connected with the National Association, and compiented -on tihe good work done in furthering •the interests of the industry by that body. FORMATION OF BRANCH. ■ It was unanimously resolved to form a branch of tire National Association at Paeroa, such to be a subbranch of the Auckland Provincial! Bee-keepers’ Association, and to be called the. Ohinemuri branch. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows : President, Mr C. Waines; Vice-presidents, Messrs H. E. Butler (Paeroa), H. F. Hpusler (Nctherton) ; secretary a,nd treasurer, Mr A. Gooding ; committee, the officers and Messrs Mitchell and W. P. Clark. GENERAL. ' It was resolved :■ “That this meeting of. bee-keepers urges .the department to continue its efforts and extend the system of part-time inspection.” On the motion of Mr- Waines> seconded by Mr Housler, it was decided to give ‘effect to> the new scheme of registration outlined by Mr A - Campbell, -director of .the Horticultural Division, at the Greymoutn con'ference. After the motion ,to the effect that the department be asked to. approve of the registration of .the new branch it was agreed to hold a furher meeting on May 22 at a time, and place: to be advertised in the Hauraki Plains Gazette. ■ ■

A hearty vote of thanks' was accorded the officials for attending the meeting.
