PAEROA LADIES? CLUB. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The a,nnual general meeting of Hie Paeroa Ladies’ Hockey Club was held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday weekThere was a large .atendance, and several new members were enrolled. The annual report presented by the secretary (Miss A. F. Morland), stated :— ‘‘Matches were played last season against Thames, Ngatea, Waitaka.ruru, and .Waihi, the local, team winning three; games, and one a ( draw. The club also, sent a team .to take part in a six-a-side tournauaent at Thames, and were defeated in the semi-fina,l by .Waihi. Miss V. Shand won representative honours by her inclusion in the Goldfield Representative Tea.m which played at Auckland. ‘‘Grounds.—The club experienced considerable difficulty in securing a suitable playing a,rea. With the help and co-operation of the Paeroa Rugby Union the use of a football ground at the racecourse was; granted. The prospects for the coming season haye been considerably brightened by the domain boa;rd having provided a ground and the use of the women’s rest room at the domain. “Dances.—During the season two dances were held as a means; of raising funds, and the undfertakings Proved a. financial success. “Affiliation.—During the season the club affiliated with the Goldfields’ Hockey Association. “Thanks.—The thanks of the club are due to Mis.s M. Thorp, and a number df ex-hockey players who assisted the club in many ways during the season. Also to ,the Paerpa Rugby Union, and Messrs. E. Edwards/, H. RBush for use of grounds, and Messrs W. C. Twigg, and G. Royal, for assistance at the dances, and to the various referees.” ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officer® for the ensuing season resulted as folio,ws : — Patron', Mr W. Troanor, S. Taylor. OPENING DAY. The date for the official, opening of the season wa® left in the hands;, of the committee. UNIFORM. It was decided that blue, wobllph jersteys be ,Worn in place of white jumper ' PRESENTATION. .The winner of Miss M. Thorp’s trophy, for the. most improved player last season, wa.s Miss B.
