CONSUMERS -INCREASING.

At Tuesday’s, meeting of ■ the Thames Valley Electric Power Board at Te Aroha the. manager (Mr RSprague) reported :—

■ “The total number of consumers connected to the board’s mains at March 31. 1926, was 5'53|1, which includes the boroughs of Te Aroha ajid Thames. During the month 79 lighting a.nd heating consumers, 52 waterheaters, 9- electric ranges, together with 39 motors- on farms, of which 22 are 2-h.p. milking were connected ; also' a 60-h.p. and a 15-h.p. motor on meter rates.

“There are now connected and operating 682 water-heaters,, 87 electric ranges, and 1612 motors on . farms, 1422 of the latter being 2 h.p. milking motors. Of the number of motors connected to the -board’s ma,ins during the month nine are on already ex? isti ng. lines.

"Balance-sheet. —It is anticipated that the balance-eheet showing the financial position of the. board for the year ended Ma.rch 31, 1926, will be available a;t the end of the- month, which obviates the necessity elf furnishing the usual; quarterly return. From the- figures already to hand i.t appears that tlie sales of the trading department will exceed those of past years.” s ..
