UNWANTED KITTENS.

LTo the Editor.)

Sir,—l wish people had a little higher sense of humanity.- About liiis time of the year some of them seem to- discover that broods of kittens, which they should have destroyed at bi) th, are growing up into mere cats t than they care to have,-so they take them down lonely roadsand abandon them to starve. If people did this With partly-grown puppies th® act would he recognised for the selfish ■ pie.ee of cruelty it is; Half-grown kittens that, have lived in backyards and -been cared for by the old cat, are nearly as helpless, as as puppies. They are terrified strange surroundings, miserable witn loneliness, and are almost certain to starve unless rescued by some passerby with a better sense of humanity, and more sympathy and unselfishness towards our- very 'dependent dumb friends.
