DAIRYING RETURNS.
PAY-OUT FOB FEBRUARY.
INCREASE ON LAST..YEAR.
We are advised by the local secretary of the 'N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. (Mr W. H. Blakeway), that the February butter-iat returns for the Thames Valley section show an’ increase of 6% per cent, on last year’s figures, the total butter-fat received being 1,054,6631 b. : \ The advance prices, were Is 3d for butter-making and Is 5d tor cheesemaking, and the total amounted to £66,764. ' . ... ■
An unusual return was recorded by one of the cartage services in the Waihi district. This J'un supplied a larger quantity- of butter-fat in the 28 days ot February than it did in the 31 days of January, which fe loosed upon as one of the flush months.
The quantity of butter manufa'ctured at the three butter factories in the section for February was 511 tons, or an increase of 6 per cept. over last year. A subtsantial increase -is also recorded by the five cheese factories, : “ ■’ * It is anticipated'that there will be a drop in the March butter-fat compared with laist year owing to the long dry spell experien'ced.
