NEW POST OFFICE.
BUILDING NEARING COMPLETION.
HANDSOME FITTINGS.
The finishing touches to the new post office building a,t Paeroa are. qow being carried out, and a visit to the interior reveals a scene of unusual activity. A number of paintens arc busily engaged on the large amount ot joinery in the general office, and in many instances the final coat of pa.int or varnish is being applied. The joinery is practically completed, and little remains to be done in chat direction. The long counter in the main office is a very handsome structure, the front being of striking design. A brass footrail and a brass edging to the counter itself complete the work.
The electricians have practically completed their work, both ups, talus and in the office portion of the build-
ing.An interesting piece off work was ■ completed on Tuesday with the election of flag-poles on the three sides .of the building. Provision has been made for 110 boxes, in the private, box lobby, and these are ready for occupation. The clock, has arrived, and will be set in position ,at the main entrance within the next few days. A-novel contrivance, .yisiblc from the private box lobby, shows wfiat mails are sorted, and where they are from.
The whole building is rapidly Lecomitig shipshape, and the contractors expect that there will not be much left to'do at the end of this mont.h.
