HAURAKI PLAINS CLUBS.
ANNUAL MEETINGS.
In view of tbe nearness of the date of the annual meeting, of the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union the clubs aie now holding their annual meetings. The United Coast club met in the Kopuarahi; school on Thursday evening, Mr F. L. Wallis presiding over 16. players- and Reportbag on the season’s, operations Mr jWaJlis said that, if the dub had been able to keep it s l players together it -would have done better in the - cdmpetition. Although the team had not won the cup it had been the only team to beat the cup winners. It would be desirable to have a .junior grade team during .the coming season. In view of the nearness of the opening of the Pipiioa ferry he would suggest that all. matches be played on tire Pipiroa domain. The'domain could, do with some improvement, and he wiVuld suggest that; a series of entertainments be orgartised for the. purpose Of raising fun-fls for underground drainage. The ’balance-sheet showed, a credit bhlancfe of £3 Os 9d, whereas, the previo-us season had c’osed with a debit' balance of lOd. The receipt's totalled £lB 19s Bd.
The following office its- were appointed : Patron, Mr W. E). Hale (re-elect-ed.).; president, Mr 0/ Lawrence ; management committee, .Messrs Russell Green, C. W. Gill, L? James, and the president and secretary ex-officio ; secretary arid treasurer, Mr P- Clarke .(re-elected) ; delegates ,to Hauraki Plains Rugby Union, Messrs F’. Wallis and C. Lawrence ; auditor, Mr xC. .Pat,ttclubi captain and selector, Mr Russell Green ; junior selector, ‘ to be appointed later if required; '.team cap.tain, Mr L. Ryan; line umpires, Messrs, L. James and C. Lawrence. It was decided that Mr L. James be asked to become a member, of the Referees’ Association. Subscriptions were- left at ss, and the club colours were not-changed. KERHPEEHI CLUB.. The annual meeting of the Kerepeehi club was held on Wednesday evening, Mr W. Thompsmi presiding over an attendance of about a dozen players and supporters. The balance-sheet, which . was adopted, showed receipts ; totalling £2B 5s 3d an d a credit balance of £8 9s lOd, compared with £4 18s lid aj the beginning of the season,. Officers /appointed for the year ■were : Pa tron, Mr A’. M. Samnel, M.P.; president;, Mr J. H. Nichols/nn ; secretary an/j treasurer, Mr H. G. Carter; delegates to Hauraki Pla'inp- Rugby Union, Messrs W. Thompson and J. H. Nicholson ; manageme’nt committee, Messrs W. Green, G. (lourtney, C. N. O’Loughlin, W. McConJaell, arid W. Thoimpson ; grounds committee, Messrs B. Steedma.n, W. I <idd. S'. Hira, O. Moore, and A. Courted nay. ZiTembers’ subscription s were fixed at. 3s.
