WAIKATO MARKET/ REPORT.

The Farmers’ 'Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports:—

Beef.—The market / is somewhat easier for both ox and cow beef, more coming forward than fe required for local requirements), prime ox making 28s to 30s and prtme cow 20s to 225. Fat Sheep.—There is little change in the price of wtether mutton, but ewe mutton is a, good bit easier.

Store Sheep.—-There is still a good demand for all classes of stores, although aged breeding ew # es have dropped in price considerably, but young ewes, lambs, and wethens' are still find ready sale at late prices.

Store Cattle.—The yardings have been small, consisting mostly of fresnconditioned a.nd store ; cows: and yearling heifers, with a quiet market for all thpsie classes. Good forward grown/ steers are still in demand, also a fai’’ inquiry exists for young male cattle.

Pigs.—The market is still very firm for baconers and porkeiis, with good yardings coming forward. Ba I con companies are offering 7d, with prices equal 'at the markets/. Store pigs are a little easier, especially weaners. ' Horses.- —Heavy draughts and good farm sorte are in demand, but. aged and light horses are dull, of sale. We quote: Bullocks, prime heavy £lO 15s to £ll 15s, medium £9 lOsi to £lO ss; cows, prime £6 10s to £7, medium £5 5s to £5 10s, unfinished £3 to £3 10s, stores £2 10s to £3 ; steers, ’forward 4-year £7 15s: to £8 10sj 3%year stores £7 to £7 10s, good 2%year £5 15s to £6 10s, 18-monthsi £3 10s to £4 ss. Sheep : Wethers, prime heavy 28s to 295, medium 26s 6d t,o 275; ewes, prime heavy, shorn, 20s/ to 235, light 18s to 19]S'; store wethers, 4-tooth, shorn, 24 s 6d to 25s 6d, 2tooth, shorn, 20s to l 22s 6dewes, 4, 6, and 8-tooth 24s to 25s 6d, 5-year 18s to 20 s, aged 12s .to 14si; fat la.mbs 22s to 245.
