GIANT SUNFLOWER.

TEN FEET SIX INCHES' IN HEIGHT.

HEAD 13 INCHES IN DIAMETER.

What would appear to be ,a record (size for a sunflower has been reached by a specimen grown by Mr A. Williams, of Hinuera Road, Matamata. The plant s£a,nds 10ft 6in in height, and the flower is 13in in diameter. The size may be appreciated when it is borne in mind that the average plant grows to about 6ft in height, with a flower from 6in ,to 9in across. Mr Williams has also a,n excellent crop of parsnips, some measuring just on 4in in diameter and 2ft 6in in length.
