ODDFELLOWSHIP.

LOYAL JUBILEE LODGH. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the members of the Loyal Jubilee Lodge, M.U., L0.0.F., was held in the Druids’ Ha,ll, Paeroa, on Tuesday evening, the N.G., Bro. C. Townshend, presiding over a large attendance.

REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. A lengthy balance-sheet was presented and after some, explanations had.been made by the financial secretary (Bro. W, Nohth, P.G.), it wap adopted.

The annual report . stated, inter alia: —

“During the year Jubilee Lodge has made history for, not only itself, but other lodges and the Order, and in more ways than one. Early in April keen and energetic Past Grajnd Bro. Stembridge suggested (that a lodge be formed at Netherton, and after due discussion we promised our support, and we feel rather proud to-day that the outcome of it is that several, meetings were held at Netherton, Oddfellowiship expounded, permission sought from the district, - and finally the district officers, opened a new branch at Netherton. Thus Mother Jubilee Lodge gaye birth to its first ‘wee baby Lodge.’ ( Thisj baby is rapidly developing into a sturdy and strong lodge under the guidance of one of our respected officers in the person of Bro. Cyril Gwilliam, P.G. “About the same time a big effort was made to introduce lady members to the Lodge. A social evening was held, and the same evening between 20 and 30 ladies joined as honorary members. Since then about six have become full financial members.

“During the football season challenges were received and accepted for a friendly game of football from the Karangahake and TajUkau lodges, while we challenged and played the Druids. In all cases the proceeds were devoted ,to benevolence. It is to be hoped that this spirit will be fostered during the coming year, not only in football but in other spbrt

•ajs’ well. ' \ ’ “The membership has increased

during the year—a,, net increase of ten—ajfter 'fifteen had drawn their clearance to other, lodges. Most of these went to Nethertdn. “Considerably more sickness was experienced in the past year, thus our Sick and Funeral Fund does not show as good as last year. Also, more money was paid to benevolent purposes, and in all cases was paid, to members of other, lodges. This will be brought up a<t the annual meeting. Owing to greater activities the management expenses were greater. “We tender our thanks/ to The Hauraki Plains Gazette for publication of reports of meetings, a,nd to all who assisted towards building up and maintaining OddfeUowship. ' “Another Trustee will be required in place of Bro. Stembridge, who retires, but having drawn his clearance is, not eligible for re-election.” The report was adopted, and many eulogistic references were made to the splendid work carried out by the. and members during the year. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were elected Trustee, Bro. T. M. , Wilkinson; financial secretary, Bro. W. North, P.G. (re-elected) ; treasurer, 1 Bro; W. L. Lawrence, P.G.
