The Anal tarring and sanding of the domain footpaths was completed yesterday afternoon. A special meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council is to be held tomorrow evening. The Hauraki Plains, County Council has ordered 2500 yards, of red metal for maintenance purpfpes. The metal will be landed at Ngatea (1000 yards), Kppuayahi, Pipiroa, and Waitakaruru (500 yards each). “If you raise your hat to a lh,dy you think you recognise in .the streets of a Californian city and make a mistake she calls a policeman—and has you arrested,” said Mr Papene Eketone in relating some of his observations in the United States, ap a member of the Rataha party.
