The matter was not discussed, no, further information being available at the time. Regret, however, was. expressed that the Piako County Council had not accepted the Patetonga riding. A letter from the Hauraki Plains County Council ashed the ratepayers to submit .their road metalling scheme to the council, and also the modified scheme as previously accepted by the ratepayers. It was decided that the particulars required should be handed to a deputation to consist of Messrs A. Wallis, A. Whiteman, D. Rogers, and J. Wilkins. It was decided that these particulars be handed to the County Clerk only after certain information was obtainable from the council. The scheme provides for the raising of £lO,OOO for .the main and subsidiary roads in the Patetonga riding.

Unanimous disapproval was expressed at the Hauraki Plains County Council main road scheme, it being considered that under the riding scheme the main road through the Patetonga riding (on which a £2 for £1 subsidy had been guaranteed) and the subsidiary roads could be metalled at a rate no greater than the County Council’s scheme would entail.—Morrinsville Star .
