A Thames resident wrote expressing his gratitude to the board, doctors, and nursing staff for the excellent care given to his wife while a patient at the maternity annexe, and concluded, “It is, with much regret that we notice the suggestion that the annexe may have ,to be closed owing to lack of support from the public, and largely, I think, to erroneous notions regarding the equipment o f the place, the treatment accorded patients, and the class of patient that goes there. However, I am sure in due time the excellence of the institution will draw the patronage it merits.”
