WEDDING.

CLARE—MAT. The marriage pf Miss Jessie May, fourth' daughter of Mrs. E. May, of Paeroa, to Mr J. W. Clare, of Ngatea, took place in St. Mary’s Church, Paero.a, on Tuesday last, the Rev. Father Dunphy officiating. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr G. Stewart, in a charming dress of ivory crepe-de-chine, with an over-skirt of radium lace. She wore the usual tulle veil and pearl coronet, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white flowers; and asparagus fern. Miss Lilly Walk® 1 ’ and Miss Joyce Keat assisted as bridesmaids, each wearing a dainty dress) of mauve silk with hat to match, and carrying a bouquet of pink and mauve flowers and asparagus fern. Little Betty Broyd (niece of the bride) and Josie Sinnett acted as flower girls, looking very sweet in flame coloured dresses trimmed with tiny frills and each carrying a dainty pcsy. Mr A. Clare, brother of the bridegroom, assisted as best man. The wedding march was played by Miss Marjorie Rosenfeldt as the bride and bridegroom entered the church. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests) adjourned to the Criterion Hotel, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the upual toasts were honoured. The bride’s mother received her guests in a smart dress of fawn marocain and navy hat., Mrs Clare, mother of the groom, was attired in brown and fawn knitted silk with hat to match. Thirty-two guests sat ,at the wedding breakfast.

The newly wedded couple left by .the evening train for their honeymoon amid showers of confetti, the bride travelling in a grey coat frock and black hat, her fur coat being a present from the groom. The bridesmaids each received a string of beads, and the flower girls a silver brooch. The. bride received many presents, and among them several cheques.
