Misses G. Tbwters and H. Shahd, of Paeroa, have been appointed temporarily to the staff of the local district high school.
Mr C. P. Topliss, manager of the Paeroa branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, is at present away in Rotorua on annual, holiday. Durhis absence Mr C. Campbell, of the Auckland office, is relieving manager.
Mr W. G. Pratt, of the Lands Office, Kerepeehi, who wtas admitted to the Pukekohe Hospital on January 23' ajs' a result of a motor-cycle accident near Pokeno, returned to duty on Monday last. His accident is attributed by the hospital doctors to sunstroke.
Mr John E. Hunt, for many years with Mr W. J. Ellis Of this town, has just taken up the position of general manager of Standard Motor Bodies, Ltd., Wellington. For the past six years Mr Hunt has been manager of. Munt, Cottrell’s Motor Body Factory, Wellington.
Mr Percy Corbett, Waihi riding member on the Ohinemuri County Councilj, is' at present seriously ill at the Waihi hospital. Advice received this morning states that Mr Corbett has made little progress during the last twelve hours, and his condition is serious.
