BOY SCOUTS.

COMMISSIONER TO VISIT PAEROA. PARADE ON MONDAY. Advice has been received by the scoutmaster of the. local Boy Scout troop, Mr D. A. Vincent, that Brig.General, A. W. Andrew, chairman bf the Dominion Executive, and honorary Chief Commissoner for New Zealand, will pay a visit of inspection to the local troop on Monday. The Commissioner will be met bn arrival of the Thames express at Paeroa on Monday afternoon, and will, be officially-welcomed by the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) and the scouts. An invitation is) extended to the public to meet the Commissioner at the Soldiers’ Club at 7.30' on Monday evening. It is not often that we h,ave the opportunity of meeting so, distinguished a visitor. Apart his' high position in the Boy Scout movement Brig.-General, Andrew is a retired Im-, peri, al Army officer with a long and meritorious) war record. It is to be hoped that a fitting welcome will be accorded the visitor, at the same time keeping in mind the fact that scouting is a national work. The glorious opportunity that it offers for service to others should be a sufficient reward for all. those who, have the interest of their country at heart, and who, are anxious to help the boy of to-day, who will be the man of to-morrow.
