RAINFALL.
LOCAL FIGURES FOR JANUARY.
RAIN ON SEVENTEEN DAYS. The rainfall in Paeroa. during last month was considerably in excess of that for the corresponding month of previous, years. From figures supplied by the local office of the Public Works Department it is ascertained that rain was recorded on 17 days out of the 31 in the month. The weekly fall of rain averaged 1.17 inches. The heaviest fall on any one day in the month was recorded on Friday, 22nd, which day will long be remembered on account of the cyclonic storm. On that day 1.43 inches were registered. The total, rainfall for the month was 4.7 inches, which is 1.65 inches! in excess of that recorded in January, 1925.
