LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES.

FINAL OF COMPETITION.

The Hauraki Plains Tennis, Association's inter-club competitions; were concluded on Saturday, when the Turua team defeated Mangawhero and

so won the “A” grade competition, and the Kerepeehi “B” team,. by defeating Waitakaruru, won the competition in that grade.

TURUA V. MANGAWHERO.

Men’s Singles. —F. C. Robinson beat J. Duffy, 9 —3 ;D. G. McMillan beat G. Paton, 9—2 ; G. Elvin lost to E. Pul 1 man, 7—9 ; J. Howarth beat McDonald, 9—4. Ladies’ Singles.—Mrs 0, lotworthy lost to Miss, Duffy, 2—7 ; Mrs Scott lost to Mrs Bird, 2—7.

Combined Doubles. —Bell and Mrs Robinson beat Garry and Miss Wallace, 7 —o ; Scott and Miss Clotworthy beat Clark and Mrs’Clark, 7—o. Men’s Doubles— Robinson and McMillan beat Duffy and Paton, 9—l; Elvin and. Howarth beat Pulman and McDonald, 9 —3;.Bell.and Scott beat Garry and Clark, 9—6.

NGATEA V. NETHERTON.

The Netherton club secured its first win on Saturday last, when it was visited by some members of the Ngatea club. The visitors were very hospitably treated, and they report having spent a very enjoyable day. Details of the scores are as, follows, Ngatea players being .mentioned first: — Men’s Singles.—F.
