IN PLACE OF BUTTER.

A PLASTICINE COW Butter is the hardest thing in the world to make a display of, it was stated at a meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Exhibition (Auckland Court) Committee on Friday afternoon. It appealed to the farmers, but not to the townspeople, unless most attractively presented, and a properly prepared display of Auckland district butter would cost £3OO to £5OO. ‘ This amount being* out of the question, the committee decided to see if the visitors to the exhibition could not be pleased by a cow moulded from plasticene, coloured to the hue of butter. Attached to the plasticene mammal will be a graph showing the dairy production of the Auckland province.
