The “Westminster Gazette,” in a Leading article, says ; “Before we can approve of .the expenditure of £1,000,000 a year to advertise Empire goods the Government should explain why it has, not protested against .the New Zealand Dairy Board reducing the butter shipments between now and August to the extent of 10,000 tons, compared with 1925, for the purpose of supplying the United States, which country has offered higher prices. “This is merely a foretaste of what the board is likely to do when it controls produce valued at £20,000,000 a year. “Australia is, organising similar control of foodstuffs and wool 1 , which proves this short-sightedness of the ‘Buy British Goods’ campaign and the fundamental fallacy of the Government’s Imperialist and protectionist policy.
