"Red Caps,” the newly appointed licensed porters at the Auckland Railway station, made their first appearance on the platforms on Monday. Three men have been employed—one a returned sdldier and two ex-navy men. When asked how things were going, one of the ex-navy men replied, “Oh, not so bad for a kick-off. It’ll be better when the public get to knSw us(.”
