STREET WORKS.
MANY IMPROVEMENTS JIN HAND.
METALLING AND FORMATION. The works committee of the Paeroa Borough Council! is. displaying considerable activity at the present time, and considerable maintenance and formation work is being pushed ahead while the fine weather lasts. In an interview on Saturday morning His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marhsall) stated that the borough workmen had been busy on street work during the past week, and much had been accomplished. Aorahgi Road has now been formed up ready for metaliling, and will be. completed as soon as supplies come to hand. The bitumen strip on Puke Roas has been sanded and rolled, which has had the effect of improving the surface considerably. Formation and maintenance work on Bush and Moore Streets has been carried out, and upper Hill Street has,,received "attention, while workmen are at present engaged on formation work on Hower' Hill Street. This work will be pushed to a, conclusion as soon as Taylor’s Avenue is opened for traffic. It is understood that the Railway Department is making an effort to complete’ its work on Taylor’s Avenue by the end of the present week. The laying of the 4in water mains, in the Thames Road-Station Road area h,as been completed, the various connections made, and on Wednesdaymorning water was circulating over the circuit.
