HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held the first sale of the New 1 Year in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, there being a fair yarding of fat cattle, sheep, and fat pigs. Values, reached in the beef pens showed an improvement on those realised prior to the holidays. Fat pigs were also competed, for at advanced rates, and fat sheep if anything were slightly firmer. The following are quoted:— Medium prime fat steers £ll 4s to £l2 ss; good quality light prime steers, £lO to £lO 17s, plain £9 10s to £lO ; best fat cows and heifers £7 to £B, medium £5 4s to 1 £6 'ss, plain and ordinary 54 to £4 10s; fresh-condi-tioned 4 and 5-year-oljd bullocks £8 2s 6d to £8 10s ; store cows £2 10s to £2 14s.
Sheep: Prime fat 4 and 6-tooth wethers 295, good quality primei ewes 27s 6d ,prime W.F. lambs to 28s.
Pigs : Heavy baconei’s. £3 15s to £4 Is, medium baconers £3 Is to £3 Ils ; good porkers £2 10s to £2 19s, light £2 to £2 5s ; large stores £2 Is. to £2 10S; slips 25s ; best weaners 15s to 16s.
