A STOLEN BICYCLE.
ALLEGED THEFTS AT PAEROA.
MAORI ARRESTED AT WAIHI.
Following on complaints received, the police arrested a- Maori youth at the railway station at Waihi yesterday afternoon. .
Several complaints of petty theft< from shops were made to Constable McC'i.nchy, and from the description given the delinquent was, traced to tlie Paeroa railway station, and from there to Waihi, whence he had travelled by train. When arrested the youth had several, articles alleged to have been stolen in his possession, including a man’s bicycle, which he admitted he had taken from Outside a building in the main street at Paeroa. : It is understood that the youth visited a number of shops here and made some small purchases, but while the shop assistants’ backs were turfted it is alleged that articles were purloined from the counters or shelves. The police have so far been unable to trace the owner of the missing bicycle.
