The rain which fell during the week-end was very welcome, anef has done much to revive .the parched gardens and pastures. “A farmer who called himself a cow cockie, was grousing the other day in a paper about getting it in the neck from .the weathersaid a draper to a Taihape Times reporter. “Look at my windows, —filled with muslins, and there’s snow out on those hills. Take it from me, the cow cockie is not the only joker who gets it in the neck.”
