STAR OF PAEROA LODGE.

INSTALLATION CEREMONY.

A very large gathering of membeis greeted the presiding officer, Arch Dru id Bro- E. V. S'lyfleld, at the meeting of the Star of Paeroa Lodge No. 18 on Monday last. The special mature of the business was the halfyearly election and installation of oi - fleers. Keen’ interest was shown in .the numerous, contested elections. Two candidates were duly initiated into the Order, the ceremony being ably managed by Bro. Darby'sliire, M.C. After the regular work of the lodge the district president, Bro. Shaw, entered the lodge as Installing Officer, and was received wtili customary dignity. P.D.P. Bro. E. Johnston presented thef officers-elec\ and the D.P. installed each one in the respective chairs of the lodge.

The following are the new 1 Lodge officers: J.P.A., Bro. EJ. V. Slyfleld; A.D., Bro. J. Darbyshire ; V.A., Bro, H. Gallagher; 1.G., Bro. L. Nield ; O. Bro. E. Wood; .A.D.B’s,, Bros, W. D. Sanderson and R. Shaw; V.A.B.’si, Bros. G. Brown and V. Hale ; Secretary, Bro. W. Turner; Treasurer, Bro. F. E. Flatt; Minute Secretary, P. Bro. P. Angle; Lodge Auditor, Bro. C. Mettam.

The Lodge being closed in due form by the newly installed Arch Druid, the brothers adjourned to? the refectory and spent a social, hour together. The loyal, and Druidic toasts were duly honoured, and most 1 interesting addresses were given by D.P. Bro. Shaw and P.D.P. Bro. Johnston.

During the next half-year the Lodge will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary.
