' GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. THE AIR MAIL. “The Air Mail” is the principal attraction to be shown to-night., featuring Warner Baxter, Billie Dove, Mary Brian, and Douglas Fairbanks, junr., in the principal roles. The story has to do with the activities of a, band of crooks who go about the systematic robbing of the U.S. air mail planes, Baxter manages to get a job as pilot aboard one of . the planes and settles down to wait for a valuable cargo to make away with. By a peculiar twist in the story, however, he not only givesi up all ideas of theft, but also brings to justice the members of two rival bands of crooks who make it ■their business to prey upon the air mailmen. > TO-MORROW NIGHT. IF I MARRY AGAIN. Director John Francis. Dillon, who piloted to success such noteworthy film successes as "Flamnig Youth,” “Lilies of the Field,” and “Flirting with Love,” has another sensational screen achievement .to his credit in “If I marry Again,” which is to be screened to-morrow night. Intensely dramatic, Dillon’s newest offering ijs different in seating and theme to any of his previous pictures. Telling the story of a woman’s love which surmounts every difficulty and obstacle placed in its path, "If I Marry Again” demonstrates Dillon’s ability to interpret poignant and .tragic emotion. Doris Kenyon is in the leading feminine role. VAUDEVILLE ACT. In conjunction with the pictures tomorrow" night the artists Ronnie and Monty Avill, deliver some real harmony and smart talking. They are a recent importation from some of, the leading metropolitan theatres, and are credited with scoring a huge success wherever they have appeared. The variety of their, programme makes it a turn Which appeals to everyone, including as it does duets from grand opera and the harmonisng of ballads and ragtime. “ NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.” THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10. The local Orphans’ Club has with commendable spirit decided to. endeavour to raise funds for the Paeroa District High School grounds, and with this object in view has arranged to stage the three-act comedy “Nothing but the Truth.” This comedy was recently presented at Thame's for two nighty to packed houses, the second night the theatre being unable toaccommodate the crowd. Apart from the object being a worthy one, a really first-cl,ass night’s amusement is as-\ sured.
