WAIKATO MARKET BETOBT.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports:

Beef.—There has been a big drop in prices for both ox and cow beef, with big yardings coming forward, prime ox making 32s 6d and prime cow and heifer 25s .to 27s 6d.

Fat Sheep-—The markets are a good deal easier, more shorn sheep offering than are required, with prospects of prices only being equal, to freezing rates.

Fat Lambs.— Although no- definite price is offering, exporters are talking B%d. Store Sheep.—There is still a good inquiry for all classes of stores, ewes with lambs and two-tooths being most sought after.

Store Cattle—The yardings have been big, with prices somewhat easier, large numbers of outside cattle coming on the market from Hawke’s Bay and the East Coast, principally grown and young steers and empty cows.

Pigs.—Big yardings are still coming forward, with a good drop in price for baconers and porkers. Bacon companies offering 6d, with prices a little better in the markets,, stores, still being in demand at late Tates,. Horses. —Prices are still, about the .same, with a good inquiry for heavy draughts and. useful farm sorts. We quote.—Bullocks, prime heavy £l2 10s to £l3 10s, medium £ll to. £ll 10s; cows, prime ”£7 10s to £8 10s, medium £6 to £7 ss, unfinished £4 5s to| £4 10s, stores. £2 15s to £3 10s ; steers,, forward 4-year £8 10s to £8 15s, 4-year stores £8 to £8 10s, good 3-year £7 15s to £B, 2-year £6 10s to £6 15s, good yearlings £4 15s, to. £5 5s and £3 10s to £3 15s. Sheep : Wethers., prime shorn heavy 32s 6d to 345, medium 30s to 31s ; ewes, prime heavy 26s to 27s 6d, light 23s to 255.; rtore wethers, 4tooth 30s to 31s, 2<-tooth 25s 6d to 26 s. 6d ; shorn ewes, 5-year with lambs, 38s to £2 2s ; shorn ewes, sound mouth with lambs, 35s .to 36s 6d ; fat .lambs 27is to 30s ; 2-tooth ewes 30s> to 325.
