YEARLY EXPENDITURE.

BOOSTING AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTS Australians show signs of rivalling America in appreciation of advertising. The goal bf a yearly expenditure of £loo,oo'o for “boosting” Australian products was set by a conference convened by the Department of Markets and Migration, with representatives of primary industries. Contributions of from £50,000 to £60,000 were expected from the Dried Fruits. Board, the Dairy Produce Control Board, and the associations connected wtih fruit, wines, and meat. A subsidy of at least £50',000 would be expected from the Federal Government. It was also expected that a grant would be available from the sum of £650,000 recommended to be appropriated for Empire publicity by the Economic Committee)} report. A beginning with publicity will be made -this season by the Australian Dairy Board, the sum of £lO,OOO having been voted for “advertising and propaganda overseas in 1926.” This, money is being vested in the London agency of the board, in conjunction with a joint committee of organisations representing Australian producers.
