• Mrs Hall (nee Miss Katie Young) will be remembered as one of the most brilliant pianists ever produced in Christchurch. That she has kept up her music ,is proved by the portfolio of programmes of chamber concerts she has given in Los Angeles. One series was given in conjunction with M. Savlavsky (who w.as leader of the New York Symphony Orchestra), when works by Arensky, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms., and Tschaikbvsky were performed. Mrs Hall also made a brilliant impression with the music she set for her husband’s recital of Dickens’ “A Christmas Caro 1 !,” given with much success in aid of the Hollywood Bowl fund. Mrs Hall has a limited class of pupils, among them the daughters of Cecil de Millie.
