An interesting visitor to Gisborne is, Mr William Higgins, a New Zealander, the present world’s champion sheep shearer. He has repeatedly shorn a sheep in 28 seconds, and oil many has done 100 sheep in two hours, before breakfast'. His best record for one day is 406 sheep shorn in nine hours. On one occasion he sheared 23 sheep in 20 minutes. ri
