BOARDED MOVING TRAIN.
WOMAN’S GYMNASTIC FEAT. 1
The spectacle of a. tall, slim woman making a dash at file goods, train passing over the Victoria! Street level crossing at Hamilton on Wednesday and making a wild spring, landing in an empty' truck, caused many passers by ,to stand and gasp in astonishment. ' The train was a. goods one, with a passenger carriage attached, and the woman, who was .on her way to the station to board it, doubtless in an ordinary, ladylike way, received a shock to find on nearing ,t|he crossing that the train was already proceeding on its journey. As it was imperative that she should travel by this particular train she decided to “give it a g 0,,” and boa,rded. a truck in the manner described. Her athletic display brought her befpre the Hamilton Court. She was charged with boarding a train in motion. She was a domestic, residing at Te Aroha, and her excuse was that she had to get back to her work. Defendant, in being convicted and discharged, was warned that gymnastic feats when boarding moving trains were a somewhat dangerous Defendant promised not to attempt the s.ame again. ,
