BRENAN SHIELD COMPESWON.
SATURDAY’S RESULTS.
Ideal -weather prevailed locally on Saturday afternoon, and followers of the various summer pastimes were able to enjoy themselves ,to the full. The scene on the • Paeroa Bowling Green by mid-afternoon presented an animated picture, every rink being filled. The principal attraction was the second series-of games in the Brenan Memorial Shield Competition, and it is interesting to record that for the first time for many seasons pajst all the rinks taking part in .the competitipn were present together on a Saturday afternoon. Following on the bright sunshine o”f the previous day, the green on Saturday was in excellent playing condition, and some close and interesting games took place. The results were as follows :— ) McDonald, J. Wilkinson, Hale, Towers (skip) 25, v. Barclay, Thorp, Gibb, Power (skip) 16 ; Vowles, Black, Edwards, Purdie (skip) 21, v. Alexander, Holes, Forrest, Cane (skip) 20 ; Finnic, Waiting, G. H. Taylor, Hayward (skip) 23, v.. Findlay, Blackburne, McCullay, Marsh (skip) 17 ; Bayfield, Silcock, Mettam, P. Williams (skip) 35, v. Chamberlain, Robson, Hague-Smith (skip) 18; Mclntyre, Say, Ellis, Mason (skip) 21, v. W. Smith, Sing, L. Williams, de Castro (skip) 16.
