There was a good attendance, and the various items Were well, received and. deservedly encored. Mr W. Johnston was the first soloist, and he was followed by Miss E. Donnelly in two well-chosen numbers. Mr Hocken’s light tenor voice was heard to advantage in two- of the old favourite songfe. Miss G. Phillips and Miss R. Kerby were encored, as also was Master Kerby in his violin solo. The final item, but by no means! the least, was a song by Mr J. Briggs. Mr H. Webb was the accompanist. The second portion of the programme was, a short farce entitled “The Quiet Family,” in which Mesdames L. Gordon, E. Donnelly, G. Phillips, G. Lloyd, and Messrs Hocken, Willis,' Tait, and Painter took part. The presentation was very creditable, despite the nervousness of some of the members.
