DISTRICT NEWS.
KEREPEEHI. SOCCER CLUB’S BALL. The Kerepeehi Soccer Club held a. very successful ball in the Kerepeehi Hall on Wednsday evening. There was a large attendance of dancers, many coming from Paeroa and Thames as well as from the distant parts, bif the Plains. The hall was tastefully decorated with paper streamers, the red and bla'ck colours of the club predominating. Tlfe music was by a Turua orchestra. Many novelty dances were introduced. A euchre tournament was held in the supper-room for the non-dancers, Mr R K. Peterson won .the finst prize for the men, while the bocby prizes were awarded to Mrs Hudson and Mr 0. Pearce.
PIPIROA.
CRICKET ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association was held at' Pipiroa on Wednesday evening. Mr H. L. Berney presiding over delegates from the Waitakaruru, Pipiroa, and Kbpuarahi clubis. iOfficers appointed for .the year were : Patron', Mr T. W. Rhodes ; president, Mr D. J. 0> Carroll ; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. Wallis. Other officers will be appointed at the next meeting. As it was not known whether Kaihere and Ngatea would 'be entering teams the draw' for the inter-club matches was deferred. As the indications were that there would not be a Ngatea team, it was decided that •should there not be a team from Ngatea, that area be considered **no' man's land” and the players be allotted to the Pipiroa and Waitakaruru by ,the association. ■. . The next meeting was set dojwn for November 16.
