LADIES’ CLUB. CLOSING DAY AT PAEROA. The formal closing day of the Paeroa Ladies’ Golf Club took place in the clubhouse at the Racecourse on Wednesday. Ideal; weather conditions prevailed, and there was a good attendance of members. The competitions arranged were a medal round, which was played during the morning and won by Mi's C. P. Topliss ; and a senior and junior medal round was played during the afternoon, the winners being Miss Tierney and Mrs Topliss, respectively. During the afternoon .tea adjournment, in the unavoidable absence of the president (Dr. T. G. Smith), the. prizes were distributed by Mrs E. Edwards. In a happy little speech Mis Edwards extended hearty congratulations to the winners, and expressed the hope that they had spent an enjoyable season on the links, and .that next year they would meet with even greater successt After thanks to the donons of trophies and to all who had assisted tlie club during tiie year had been expressed the following presentations were made: — ~

Club handicap, Mrs Bray, runner-up Mrs Miller; club champicniship, Mrs Bray.

Club modal rounds were won byMiss F. Walmsley, May ; Mrs Bray, June; Mrs Bray, July; Mrs O’Neill, August; Mrs Gorrie, September ; Mrs Bray, .October. Mrs Bray’s trophy was won by Miss Tierney ; Mrs Little's, Miss F. Walm&ley; Mrs Topliss’, Mrs Gorrie; Mr Hedge’s, Miss F. . Walmsley; Mrs Bain’s, Mrs O’Neill; Mrs Lawrence’s, Miss Tierney ; Mrs Taylor’s, Mrs Topliss ; Miss Walmsley’s, Miss, L. Thorp ; Mrs Edwards’, Miss L. Thorp. The Ladies’ Golf Union’s silver medal was won by Mrs Bray, and the bronze medal by Miss L. Thorp.
